Black Friday is tomorrow. It's the day where bargain hunters from across the country (and world) try and grab themselves a great deal and ease into the holiday period.
Shopping on Black Friday has often be compared to playing a contact sport, so make sure you are prepared for things to get a little rough.
The team at Yo Sox has prepared a foolproof Black Friday game plan to ensure that you are able to survive the chaos and still find great deals, but more importantly we want you to keep your sanity.
Compare prices: There are a number of great websites you can look at to try and compare product prices. Sites such as Shopping.com, PriceGrabber.com, Shopzilla.com and PriceWatch.com. There are also a number of apps that let you look up specific items at compare prices. Some great apps to try are ShopSavvy, BuyVia and The Find.
Go with a plan: There is nothing worse than heading into a shopping fiasco without an idea of what you are looking for. You will be going up against some competitive shoppers, so you need to come prepared. Do your homework before the big day and make a list of all the items you are looking for.
Shop loyal: Stores often have memberships or loyalty programs. For the stores that you already love, find out early if they are offering any promotions or discounts for loyalty members and take advantage of the savings.
Create a manageable budget: Going into Black Friday with a budget will help you prioritize what you need to buy and help you avoid impulse buying. If you know how much you are willing to spend on a specific item, once you are in the store and see the prices, you will no right away if you still need it.
Avoid pricey add ons: If you are going in to buy a big ticket item, make sure to avoid the pricey accessories. This is where retailers can make their extra money--insisting that you need big warranties, or an added accessory such as wall mounts, HDMI cables or a Blue Ray player. If you are looking to purchase an accessory for a higher priced item, do your research maybe you can find it online now for a cheaper price, or in a different store.
Don’t shop alone: The Yo Sox team thinks the best thing you can do is shop with a friend. Bring someone along to not only help you find the items you are looking for, but also for moral support in case you happen to get into a fight with an older woman grabbing the last iPad.
Dress accordingly: Finally, the Yo Sox team believes the best way to have a successful shopping day is to make sure you are comfortable. Wear a pair of runners or boots that offer support and for comfort, we recommend rocking a pair of awesome socks!
