The highly anticipated announcement for the 2016 Pantone color of the year has come as a bit of a shock, as the color matching company has chosen two colors for the upcoming year-for the first time ever.
Pantone has selected the color Rose Quartz, a light pink that Pantone says, "is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure."
The second selected color is Serenity, which is a cool blue that, "comforts with a calming effect, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times," Pantone said in an announcement video.
Pantone predicts that their color choices will be popular in fashion, either on its own, or through floral prints and color blocks. They also believe that Rose Quartz and Serenity will be popular in beauty and nail products. Pantone also anticipates that these colors will play a key roll in home décor and design this year. They suggest using splashes of Serenity and Rose Quartz in rugs, upholstery and in paint.
For those trendsetters that are looking to get a head start on these color trends, Yo Sox has a variety of awesome sock to buy in either hues now!
