Christmas is one of the most wonderful days of the year hands down, but many Canadians really get excited for the following day, Boxing Day.
What is Boxing Day you ask? Well, it's very similar to the highly anticipated Black Friday, but it definitely comes without all of the hype.
The name 'Boxing Day' actually originates from England and references the times when workers would receive a Christmas box from their employers to show their gratitude for their hard work. Similar to a Christmas bonus.
Many businesses are closed on the 26th, but now many large department stores and shops will stay open to offer shoppers amazing sales and discounts. It can also be the one day of the year that retailers receive the most returns.
But Boxing Day is gives Canadians another day off to spend extra time with their families before the end of the holiday season.
The Yo Sox team has decided that this year we are going to skip the hectic malls and enjoy the 26th from the comfort of our homes. We're offering 30% OFF our entire site today in honour of this Canadian (British import) holiday.
See you in the new year!
